34 weeks of 4 lessons each of American History for High School Students. Topics include American Indians, Pilgrims, Colonial Life, Revolution, Constitution, Reform, Slavery, Revival, Civil War, Immigration, Reconstruction, West, World Wars, Vietnam, African American History and War on Terrorism. Each lesson consists of a lesson summary full of historical facts and pictures and an assignment/s. Included in the back of the book is a glossary of terms for words found in bold throughout the book. Also the Timeline found in the back will be beneficial to you as a quick resource.

This would be best used in a private/homeschooling atmosphere. Although if you are are a history buff or want to supplement your high schoolers education with history from an anti-Christian perspective then you might want to get this book. This book is stated as High School level but could easily be adapted for middle schoolers as well. If you are considering using this as a source for an elementary history study I would not recommend that. You would have to do alot of dumming down and change the assignments all together. But your middle or highschooler would definitely benefit and learn from it. The book is designed as a 5 day lesson with 4 lessons from the student text and the final lesson being an exam covering weeks chapter(which I assume is found in the teachers book which I have not reviewed).

What I liked: Short yet complete lessons with appropriate extended assignments
What I didn't like: Although the lessons were short some of the vocabulary was too advanced. Lessons 29-34 are comprised of 1950 to present day...which leaves out alot of history during those time periods.
Would I recommend this book: yes...but I would supplement with something else for  history during 1950 and on time period.

Combine beautiful real life photography, baby snow monkeys, and the Bible and what do you get? A great children's book that not only teaches them about God's wonderful creatures, but also gives them biblical truths about God's design for families and his promises to us.
This book has received the Christian Choice Book Awards and is one of a series of the Fun Adventures Wildlife Books by Tim Ostermeyer. Pages consist of real life animal photography, educational facts, scripture verses,  and a fun story line. Follow the adventures of Snuggles the snow monkey as he travels over the Japanese Alps with his parents. Read about how he learns about the wisdom and care of his parents, if man evolved from monkeys, and what the Bible has to say about spiritual truths.
My favorite part about this book was that it was in a story form which made it more conducive for the attention span of a younger child. The real life pictures of cute baby animals made the story very warm and inviting. I was able to read this to my 4 children ranging from ages 6-12. My younger kids loved the story and photos and my older child enjoyed the educational facts and scripture application. It even spurred us to look up more about snow monkeys on the internet.
There really wasn't anything negative about this book. If you like animals and want to teach your children Biblical principles, then you have to read Snuggle's Japanese Alps Adventures.
